Chicago DUI lawyer warns about the consequences a Chicago DUI has on your chances in the job market

This is probably one of the worst times since the Great Depression to be looking for a job. I have previously posted on the impact a Chicago DUI can make to you keeping a job or getting a new one. I have also noted that some professions probably will not lose their job, in spite of a guilty finding on a Chicago DUI. Now a solemn reminder of why you need to make sure you have an experienced Chicago DUI lawyer working on your case. One who can best advise you of the chances you have to beat your Chicago DUI and what that can mean for your future after the case is over, whether the charges are dismissed or you are found guilty of a Chicago DUI.

Mt. Prospect School District 57 officials are hopeful that a month of turmoil over their choice for superintendent will end Thursday when the board is expected to hire Elaine Aumiller.

The School Board's first choice for the job, Peggy Kaufmann, resigned before she ever worked a day in the district after news reports surfaced last month of a DUI arrest in April and another in 2002.

No fingerprint-based background check was ordered for Kaufmann. It's not clear whether such a check would have revealed Kaufmann's earlier DUI, but checks against both Illinois State Police and FBI databases are required of all Illinois school employees hired after August 2004.

District 57 School Board President Joseph Leane said there may have been a miscommunication between the board and the search firm, BWP & Associates in
Libertyville, which was hired to help winnow potential candidates in the initial search.
It is unclear whether Ms. Kaufmann felt pressured to resign because of her pending DUI or if she resigned because of her past DUI arrest. Either way, it is probably time to start talking about some sort of rehabilitation for folks who have completed their sentences for a Chicago DUI the same way U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald is making that suggestion to the business community for far more serious criminal offenders.
