St Patrick's Day DUI Crackdown in Roselle

Your tax dollars are going to be hard at work in Roselle this upcoming St. Patrick's Day. If you are attending any festivities in and around Roselle, perhaps in Schaumburg, Rolling Meadows, Hoffman Estates, Elk Grove Village, Streamwood or Hanover Park, be very careful.

If you attend any St. Paddy's Day parties that will have you driving through Roselle, be sure to have a designated driver who consumes no alcohol at all, and who will ensure that every passenger is buckled up.

Just because other municipal Police departments haven't made similar announcements doesn't mean they won't be using the same DUI and occupant restraint laws enforcement check. As this Chicago DUI Lawyer noted recently, the 44th President of the United States had concerns about these kinds of programs back when he was in the Illinois State Senate. Go to page 32 and read on down to see what Barack Obama had to say back in 2003.

You can read the official announcement by Roselle's finest for yourself, and when you do so, pay close attention to the URL. The very name of the URL shows that it is a 'reworked' press release from Super Bowl. In the month of November 2008 they used a similar program to make 25 DUI arrests - almost one per day. I guess they're skilled at getting tax dollars to support their DUI enforcement in Roselle. How do you feel about your very scarce tax dollars being used to pay for Police overtime to look for DUI arrests?
