Chicago DUI lawyer says looks like the leadership of MADD is trying to keep it's members on message about drinking

Unfortunately, this Chicago DUI laywer is not surprised that MADD's true colors are now in plain view. I've posted here about MADD being anti-alcohol, not just drunk driving, and now we have complaints from MADD's leadership about the President's recent "beer summit".

The president of the United States, a Harvard professor, and a Cambridge police officer.

Images of these role models drinking alcohol were plastered on TV screens all across America the past few days.

And, the leader of an anti-drunk driving group hopes those images don't send the wrong message to the millions of young people who saw the president drinking on TV.
Audio Here

Nancy Raynor is president of the Delaware chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

She says her group isn't "prohibitionist," but it is is concerned about what teens and childrens take away from seeing the president drinking on TV.

Here's the transcription, from the audio file, of Nancy Raynor's comment: "The young people, well it's a well known fact, that the young people tend to mimic the actions of adults".

There’s no story there, it was a local MADD staffer expressing a personal opinion. “We have no problem with the president serving beer at the White House.”

You know the old saying, give 'em an inch and they will take a mile? We've already given MADD several feet.
